Abbotsford School District

Abbotsford’s award-winning public schools and teachers have hosted international students for many years. Students can choose from single semester, academic year, or multiple year programs leading to graduation.  Many of our international students go on to study at good universities across Canada, the United States and around the world.  All schools provide expert ESL instruction.  We teach high level academic, technology, arts and ESL courses in modern facilities using the latest equipment and methods. Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board

For each accepted student, a Homestay Supervisor will arrange a placement with an approved Canadian family. The Homestay family provides the International Student with the following: A home that is inspected and approved by the Homestay Supervisor. Residence in a home in the community that provides the International Student with the security and care of life with a Canadian family. Accommodation and meals, seven days a week for the entire duration of the school year. Their own room with a suitable desk or table for study purposes. Reasonable access to all the home’s facilities including laundry facilities. Transportation to most appointments and the other supports usually available to a student living at home.

Burnaby School District

Burnaby offers international students the opportunity to study alongside local Canadian students in its elementary and high schools. Most international students come to graduate with a Dogwood Diploma, their entry to top universities in Canada and North America. We also offer a short term Canadian high school experience program of 5 or 10 months. Burnaby School District is proud of its strength in academic programming and achievements. It has one of the largest Advanced Placement (AP) programs in Canada and also offers the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma. Calgary Board of Education

Calgary Board of Education schools have a full range of academic classes including different levels of English as a Second Language programming, interesting complementary classes (options), and extra-curricular activities to suit most interests! Depending on the level of English proficiency, international students can access the same regular academic courses (Math, Sciences, Social Studies, and English) as Canadian students. A wide variety of complementary courses are available. Some examples are Fine Arts (such as Choir, Jazz Band, Music, Dance, Art, Drama, etc.), Career and Technology Studies (such as Cosmetology, Welding, Pre-Engineering, Graphic Design, Construction, Auto body, Mechanics, etc.), and Languages (such as French and Spanish). O EMSB tem atualmente 33 escolas primárias (do pré-jardim de infância ao 6.º ano) e 16 escolas secundárias, secundárias I-V (7.º ao 11.º ano), servindo cerca de 35 000 alunos. Para o aluno que quer dominar a língua inglesa, as nossas escolas primárias oferecem o curso English Core de 220 minutos de ensino de inglês e 90 minutos de ensino de francês por dia. Langley School District is governed by the British Columbia Ministry of Education. Government-certified teachers teach a complete government accredited and approved curriculum in all of the schools. We have been welcoming international students since 1989. Our International Student Program offers a wide range of education options which include Elementary, Secondary and Summer English Learning Programs. The program operates out of the Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School -- one of the largest high schools in Manitoba, with approximately 1,200 students. The high school offers outstanding academic and vocational curricula with exceptional music programs, computer/business studies, advanced placement courses, and many athletic and artistic opportunities. There are over 200 courses to choose from, spanning a wide range of interests and needs.  The school’s modern facilities include state-of-the-art computer labs, a 300-seat theatre, an indoor swimming pool, a fully equipped fitness area, and indoor and outdoor track.
