Students can choose from single semester, academic year, or multiple year programs leading to graduation. Many of our international students go on to study at good universities across Canada, the United States and around the world. All schools provide expert ESL instruction. We teach high level academic, technology, arts and ESL courses in modern facilities using the latest equipment and methods. We offer International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP) and a wide range of elective courses, including 3D Architecture and Engineering, Aviation, Film (Top program in Canada 2017 and 2019), Animation, Business, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Sports Academies (Soccer, Golf, Ice Hockey, Baseball/Softball). The EMSB currently has 33 elementary schools (pre-kindergarten to grade 6, and 16 high schools, secondary I-V (grades 7-11) serving approximately 35,000 students.Academics, along with an enriched learning experience, partnered with several French language options are offered in our elementary and high schools. Government-certified teachers teach a complete government accredited and approved curriculum in all of the schools. We have been welcoming international students since 1989. Our International Student Program offers a wide range of education options which include Elementary, Secondary and Summer English Learning Programs. Students who want to come for the secondary program (grade 8 to 12) can begin their studies at the start of the school year in September, or in February at the start of the second semester. Elementary program welcomes a limited number of international students to study in selected elementary schools (kindergarten to grade 7). The District requires children under the age of 13 to reside with a parent for the duration of their studies. Our schools offer an excellent learning environment with full range of academic and elective courses for international students to choose.
