Le programme peut aller d'un programme d'amélioration de l'anglais à temps plein à un programme de crédit académique à temps plein, le tout dans une école secondaire publique de l'Est de l'Ontario. Chaque élève bénéficie d'un plan de placement personnalisé. Tous les nouveaux élèves participent à un programme d'orientation qui couvre de nombreux sujets liés à leur programme scolaire à venir et à la vie au Canada. Tous les élèves bénéficient d'un soutien et d'une assistance continus à l'école et se voient attribuer un coordinateur de séjour expérimenté pour surveiller la vie à la maison. Le personnel de l'école, attentif et encourageant, suit le parcours et les progrès scolaires de chaque étudiant et les aide à atteindre leurs objectifs académiques. Nous proposons une gamme de services optionnels dans le cadre du programme d'aide aux étudiants (coût supplémentaire). Nous avons également désigné 10 écoles secondaires pour offrir un soutien renforcé en langue anglaise aux élèves qui ont besoin d'une aide supplémentaire. Ce soutien comprend un instructeur d'anglais langue seconde (ESL) à temps plein, disponible pendant toute la journée scolaire et qui suit les progrès des étudiants internationaux dans toutes leurs classes, un cours d'ESL crédité chaque semestre et le personnel du programme du système qui travaille avec tous les enseignants pour mettre en œuvre des stratégies d'adaptation du programme d'études pour nos étudiants internationaux.

The Upper Canada District School Board is located in Eastern Ontario. The Board serves 30,000 students over a region of 12,000 square kilometers – comprised of both rural and municipal communities. We partner with Canada Homestay International (CHI), the largest and most experienced homestay company in Canada. Each host family is interviewed, screened, and approved by CHI staff prior to student placement. Each student has his/her own private bedroom with a suitable study area, access to the Internet and to the entire home’s facilities, including meals and transportation. The homestay families will give students from other countries an opportunity to experience Canadian culture, customs, and language, and also provide the encouragement and the support required to help their students throughout their stay. Many of them are our teachers! Students are expected to become part of the family and to participate in leisure activities. Spending money is the responsibility of the student and his/her natural parents. The family contribution will come from the heart by caring for the student as their own child and making him/her feel like a true member of the family. Our homestay coordinators provide ongoing support to our students and host families throughout their stay. There are many different activities and clubs that are available to students both at school and outside of school hours. They include, but are not limited to: Baseball, Basketball, Biking, Board Games, Computers, Concerts, Cooking, Dance, Fishing, Fitness, Golf, Hiking/walking, Hockey/Skating, Horseback Riding, Martial Arts, Music: listening, Music: playing, Paint/Draw, Photography, Reading, Skiing/Snowboarding, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, Video Games. Note that some activities may only be available by season (summer or winter).
