Message from the Board Chair

Home » About » Message from the Board Chair
As Chair, I am very much looking forward to working with the CAPS-I Board and Executive. We will continue to advocate for and develop best practices among our membership, support members in diversifying their international student enrolment and support agents and prospective students to find educational opportunities within our members' programs.
CAPS-I is committed to the advocacy and promotion of international education programs in Canadian public schools. International students continue to make significant contributions to their communities and schools across Canada. These students also have a beneficial impact on the culture of learning in their schools and create positive relationships with local students, school staff, and the community. International students also benefit from their experiences, gaining an appreciation for and learning from the Canadian perspective and way of life.
CAPS-I and its member districts strive to foster welcoming and inclusive environments for International students. To this end, recently CAPS-I has completed:
  • A refresh of our brand and website in consultation with agency stakeholders to make the agent/parent/student journey through our website more effective and efficient
  • The development of a best practice resource to support gender inclusivity in homestays
  • Planning and execution of trade missions to Japan, France, Brazil, and Hong Kong.
CAPS-I’s 130 member school districts and boards are committed to ensuring that the Canadian experience for the 33,000 international students in K-12 public schools is the best in the world and that international students in Canada have access to the highest quality educational programs.
