Nestled between Georgian Bay and Lake Simcoe, the Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) welcomes students from across the globe to participate in full-year, one-semester and short-term programs. The SCDSB is committed to ensuring that students reach their full potential and become responsible and contributing members of an ever-changing global society. The SCDSB focuses on providing quality programs which develop the skills of lifelong-learning in a safe, caring environment. 

Each of our 15 participating high schools has a dedicated Guidance Counsellor who offers ongoing support and academic counselling to our students throughout their stay. The SCDSB has a devoted team of English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers and instructors available to those students requiring language support. As well, all SCDSB high schools offer a variety of extracurricular activities.

The SCDSB is proud to offer a variety of specialized programs including French Immersion and Specialist High Skill Majors in Arts and Culture, Business, Construction, Environment, Health and Wellness, Horticulture and Landscaping, Hospitality and Tourism, Information and Communications Technology, and Transportation. Simcoe County boasts the longest fresh water beach in the world, Wasaga Beach, a network of world-class trails for hiking and biking, and some of the best skiing in all of Ontario. Simcoe County is conveniently located just one hour north of Toronto. Whether a student wishes to live in one of our cities, lakeside towns or rural communities, the Simcoe County District School Board has something to offer to everyone.

Our homestay program provides students with the unique opportunity to live with a Canadian family. Local host families welcome international students into their homes and provide a safe and caring environment where international students are able to learn about Canadian customs and culture, and be fully immersed in the English language.

  • Host families undergo a vigorous screening process, including: in-home interview, criminal background and reference checks
  • Homestay students are provided with a private bedroom, study space and three meals per day
  • The homestay company provides custodianship for homestay students under the age of 18
  • Our homestay partner is family-run, non-profit and has helped tens of thousands of students find a home away from home in Canada

From athletics, to clubs, our students have a variety of activities to choose from:

  •  Athletics: football, soccer, rugby, basketball, volleyball, hockey, ultimate frisbee, cross country running, badminton, golf, curling, skiing, tennis, wrestling. Competitive and non-competitive
  • Clubs: Canoe and Kayak club, Chemistry Club, Concert Band, Concert Choir, Dance Team, Drum Line, Free the Children, Jazz Band, Orchestra, Photography Club, Prom Committee, School Musical and Student Council

Full Year Tuition Fee: $15,000

1 Semester Tuition Fee: $7,500

Homestay package for an academic year (10 months): $14,505

Homestay package for an academic semester (5 month): $8,280

Homestay package includes: registration, family placement, 3 meals a day, homestay orientation, custodian registration, monthly student monitoring, 24/7 emergency support, medical insurance, and airport pickup and return. Included in the Homestay fees are $700 of non-refundable registration fees and a refundable $500 damage deposit that is refunded directly to the student upon departure.
