The Rocky Mountain International Student Program operates its own homestay and custodianship program. Students requiring homestays are placed with carefully-selected host families within walking distance of their schools or a designated school bus stop. Our host families are an integral part of the study-abroad experience in the Rocky Mountain International Student Program. Their active and enthusiastic participation in our program enhances each student’s cultural experience and ensures they maximize their time in Canada. Placements are supervised and supported by a designated Homestay Coordinator in each community.

RMISP students meet weekly with their local coordinator at a special lunchtime meeting. Twice a month, RMISP students also participate in the program’s Included Activities. Activities this year included river-rafting, skiing or snowboarding, overnight trips to Calgary, winter camp, curling, hiking, visits to hot springs, BBQ party, an optional trip to Vancouver as well as pumpkin carving for Halloween, decorating Gingerbread houses for Christmas, karaoke, and various smaller activities during the school week.
