The Durham Catholic District School Board is a publicly funded Catholic school board located in Durham Region, east of Toronto, Ontario, serving the Town of Ajax, Township of Brock, City of Oshawa, City of Pickering, Township of Scugog, Township of Uxbridge and the Town of Whitby. We are located a 30-minute drive from downtown Toronto. Oshawa is the home to Durham College and University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), the newest university in Ontario.
Our students’ academic and community experience is enriched with Canadian Cultural opportunities like participation in local events, and trips to places like Niagara Falls and Ottawa, our nation’s capital. Day trips that extend beyond Durham Region are offered as part of the Passport to Excellence program so that students can take in many cultural highlights such as Royal Ontario Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario, Ontario Science Centre, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Canada’s Wonderland, Ripley’s Aquarium, professional sports, ballets, theatres and much more.

The Durham Catholic District School Board works closely with Muskoka Language International (MLI) to support international students with safe, caring and friendly accommodation. Families are carefully screened and selected and ready to provide a welcoming environment and the support necessary to be successful in school. All homestay families are usually within a short distance of school.

All international students are received with Welcome Day activities, Newcomer Orientation Week (NOW) and Settlement Workers in School(SWIS) worskshop for students. Other cultural activities include Wellness Day, Apple Pickering Day, colleges and universities Open house,
Our academic experience for international students includes after school tutoring sessions, IELTS and TOEFL preparation classes and caring adults in our schools, such as English as a Second Language Teachers, Guidance Counsellors and the Passport to Excellence team. Our Passport to Excellence: International Education program is focused on academics, community and Canadian culture.

Elementary school (Grade k – 8): $15,200.00 CDN – Full year of Elementary School (10 months)
$7,600.00 CDN – Half year of Elementary School (5 months)
$1,800.00 CDN/Course – Adult Continuing Education Course (eg: PSW Program – $1,800 X 6.5 credits = $11,700.00)
