CECCE – Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est

UNE ÉDUCATION DE CLASSE MONDIALE

The Conseil des écoles catholiques du Centre-Est (CECCE) is the largest Canadian network of French-language schools outside the province of Quebec. Most of the schools are located in Ottawa, Canada’s capital, and others are in neighbouring cities: Kingston, Brockville and Pembroke. The CECCE has more than 21,000 French-speaking students in 50 elementary and secondary schools. Our priority is to insure the success of each student.

  • The CECCE is recognized for the excellence of its schools; its students consistently obtain the best results in Ontario on standardized tests.
  • Its secondary schools offer many specialized programs (International Baccalaureate, Sport Academies, Sciences, Fine Arts, etc.).
  • All students master both French and English, Canada’s two official languages.
  • The secondary school graduation rate is greater than 90%.

Why choose our schools?

  • To receive a high-quality education in French with the Ontario Curriculum;
  • To perfect your English skills (an option: living with a bilingual homestay family);

Most of the CECCE’s schools are located in Ottawa, Canada’s capital, in the province of Ontario, and others are in neighbouring cities: Kingston, Brockville and Pembroke. Canada’s National Capital Region is the fourth-largest urbanized area in the country, with over a million residents. Ottawa is a dynamic, welcoming city and it is the perfect place to have new educational experiences in a safe, bilingual environment.

The City has a lot to offer : linguistic and cultural diversity, a plethora of educational resources, a balanced lifestyle, a wide range of inspiring activities, and convenient access to major Canadian and American cities. Ottawa has many unique neighbourhoods that can easily be explored on foot and is host of many international festivals, no matter the season !

The Conseil des écoles catholiques is offering you the chance to come study in a region that is safe and full of opportunities, where you can thrive and experience new things !

You may choose the services of a host family offered by the Canada Homestay Network, a partner organization of the CECCE. This type of accommodation will give a true Canadian experience, since in addition to being fully integrated into a French-language school, you will be living with a family that speaks both official languages, English and French.

No matter what your interests are, the CECCE has something for you! Either within the District or within the community, the CECCE has a wide variety of clubs, teams, activities and school trips. Students can participate in many sport activities : American football, soccer, martial arts, dance, mountain biking, cross-country, tennis, basketball, golf, aquatics, baseball, volleyball, hockey  – two of the CECCE’s schools have the province top hockey facilities. Many of students compete at the provincial, national and international levels or practice a sport during lunch or after school. The CECCE’s schools also offer many more activities and for all students, such as theater, business development, wood workshop, mechanics, first aid, etc.
