The Regional Municipality of Peel (also known as Peel Region) is a regional municipality in Southern Ontario, Canada. It consists of three municipalities to the west and northwest of Toronto: the cities of Brampton and Mississauga, and the town of Caledon. The entire region is part of the Greater Toronto Area and the inner ring of the Golden Horseshoe. With a population of over 1,320,000, Peel Region is the second-largest municipality in Ontario after Toronto. The Peel District School Board is one of Canada’s largest publicly funded school boards. Located just outside of Toronto, Peel Region is one of the safest and most multicultural cities in the world. Many international tourist attractions are within one, two, or three hours’ drive – CN Tower, Niagara Falls, Norman Bethune’s birthplace, Algonquin Park (7,725 square kilometres of magnificent nature reserve), to name just a few.
The Peel District School Board has Homestay arrangements in place for students who require a place to live while in Canada. Canada’s Newcomer Services, Homestay Select Inc. and Superior International Education Development (SIED) are three possible Homestay organizations in Mississauga.
Each organization promises to provide appealing accommodations and caring hospitality in Canada, from a host family who shares in the student’s interests and educational goals. This means students arrive in Canada to a supportive home environment, and are offered assistance at every stage of their visit in Canada. All of our accommodations are located in appealing, safe neighborhoods accessible to school via public transportation.
Established in 2011 by the Peel District School Board, Peel Schools for International Students provides a unique, world-class education in a safe and inclusive environment for students from kindergarten to grade 12. We are located in the western suburbs of Toronto – just 20 minutes away from downtown Toronto and only one hour from Niagara Falls and the United States border – the Peel board in Canada’s second largest school board. Located in one of Canada’s most multicultural communities, we are experts in ESL programming and help students from around the world reach high levels of achievement and develop a love of lifelong learning.
