The York Region District School Board offers accommodation to international students who wish to live with Canadian families during their study terms. Students are provided with a private bedroom, three daily meals, shared bath and a safe and secure environment. Through daily interaction with Canadian families, students improve their English and learn about the customs and culture of Canada. Homestay families are matched with each student based on personality, and on the basis of proximity to school. International students are welcomed treated with the same respect and care as a family member to ensure the best possible experience.
