We are the largest publicly funded Catholic School District in Western Canada. All of our staff strive to uphold the district’s mission: Living and Learning In Our Catholic Faith. The size of the district allows for a large dedicated support team, in addition to our qualified teaching staff, who ensure our International students receive the support required to master the English language. Our large support team also includes interpreters and qualified staff who can support our International students with their emotional well-being, in addition to supports they receive for their academic success.

Calgary is the largest city in the province of Alberta which is located in western Canada. It is nestled in the foothills of Canada’s Rocky Mountains and has many beautiful parks and rivers. The city is known for its friendly western hospitality and is a culturally diverse and thriving metropolis.
Calgary Catholic School District works with Canada Homestay Network (CHN) to place students into excellent host families in the City of Calgary (Grades 7-12).
All of our Host families have had thorough interviews, home inspections, safety checks and reference checks. They are enthusiastic to receive International students and they all speak English in the home.
All of our host family accommodations are located in appealing, and safe neighborhoods that are easily accessible to the school.
All accommodations include, at a minimum:
Once students are matched with their new Canadian family, supervision and support are provided by CHN staff throughout their stay. Students are supported in schools and have access to homestay support 24/7 in the event of a problem or emergency. While living in Calgary, homestay students become a member of their Calgary family!
Every school in our district offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities in areas such as athletics, fine arts, music and drama. Participation in extracurricular activities can help contribute to the development of self-confidence while allowing students to interact with new people and make new friends with similar interests. This experience is especially important for International students as it allows them to benefit from interacting with their new peers and experience all aspects of Canadian culture.
