The Penticton area has a population of 60,000 people with all the amenities of a larger city, but the friendliness and safety of a smaller community. The communities are primarily English speaking and offer diverse activities for those who enjoy the outdoors.

Spring and summer outdoor recreation activities abound: Golfing, tennis, hiking, mountain biking on the Kettle Valley Railway and floating down the river channel between Okanagan and Skaha lakes are all very popular. Winter recreational opportunities at Apex Mountain Ski Resort include down hill and cross country skiing; snowshoeing and sledding. The local airport is ten minutes from Penticton while the International Airport in Kelowna is less than an hour away by car. Vancouver is short a 4 1/2 hour drive from Penticton.
