Prince Edward Island is the smallest of the four Atlantic Provinces and is separated from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick by the Northumberland Strait. You can travel to the Island by bridge, boat, or airplane. The Confederation Bridge, an engineering marvel built in 1997, is 12.9 kilometers long and allows Islanders and visitors to travel to or from Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick. An automobile ferry runs from May to December for travel between Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. The airport is located in the capital city, Charlottetown and is a two hour flight from Toronto or New York.

International students have the flexibility to choose their own homestay provider that meets their needs. The PEIISP is pleased to have a partnership with Study Abroad Canada as a homestay option for students https://www.studyincanada.ca/homestay-program/.  All students from kindergarten to grade 6 must live with their parent or guardian.

Activities: A wide variety of extra-curricular activities and specialized programs are offered in schools and may include the following: athletic sports, music, drama, yearbook, student government, IB and French Immersion. The PEIISP also organizes small monthly gathering as a way for the students from all schools to meet, have fun and experience PEI!
