Abbotsford’s award-winning public schools and teachers have hosted international students for many years. Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board

For each accepted student, a Homestay Supervisor will arrange a placement with an approved Canadian family. The Homestay family provides the International Student with the following: A home that is inspected and approved by the Homestay Supervisor. Residence in a home in the community that provides the International Student with the security and care of life with a Canadian family. Accommodation and meals, seven days a week for the entire duration of the school year. Their own room with a suitable desk or table for study purposes. Reasonable access to all the home’s facilities including laundry facilities. Transportation to most appointments and the other supports usually available to a student living at home.

Burnaby offers international students the opportunity to study alongside local Canadian students in its elementary and high schools. Most international students come to graduate with a Dogwood Diploma, their entry to top universities in Canada and North America. We also offer a short term Canadian high school experience program of 5 or 10 months. Burnaby School District is proud of its strength in academic programming and achievements. It has one of the largest Advanced Placement (AP) programs in Canada and also offers the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma. The Visual and Performing Arts program in Burnaby is the most diverse in British Columbia. Calgary Board of Education

Calgary Board of Education schools have a full range of academic classes including different levels of English as a Second Language programming, interesting complementary classes (options), and extra-curricular activities to suit most interests! Depending on the level of English proficiency, international students can access the same regular academic courses (Math, Sciences, Social Studies, and English) as Canadian students. A wide variety of complementary courses are available. Some examples are Fine Arts (such as Choir, Jazz Band, Music, Dance, Art, Drama, etc.), Career and Technology Studies (such as Cosmetology, Welding, Pre-Engineering, Graphic Design, Construction, Auto body, Mechanics, etc.), and Languages (such as French and Spanish). Calgary Catholic School District

We are the largest publicly funded Catholic School District in Western Canada. All of our staff strive to uphold the district's mission: Living and Learning In Our Catholic Faith. Campbell River School District

Campbell River School District has about 5500 students. We have two high schools, with approximately 900 and 750 students each. Both high schools have strong academic focuses, with graduates going to a wide variety of universities, some even receiving scholarships to prestigious universities, such as Harvard and Brown. Our graduation rate is in the top 20% of British Columbia. Central Okanagan Public Schools (District 23)

Central Okanagan Public Schools (District No. 23) is the 5th largest in the province and includes the communities of Kelowna, Peachland, West Kelowna and Lake Country. With a growing school population of 22,500 Canadian students, our 31 elementary schools, 7 middle schools and 5 high schools offer a comprehensive curriculum which includes academic and elective courses as well as a wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities. Central Quebec School Board

The Central Québec School Board (CQSB) is situated in historical Québec City but our territory covers nearly one-third of the province of Québec. Our Board has served the English-speaking community under various names since 1867.CQSB has jurisdiction over 18 schools and one Adult and Vocational Education centre. Eight of our nine Secondary (High) Schools have a student population of less than 500. Chinook International Program

The Chinook International Program (CIP) offers programs for students aged 14 – 18. Students 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Our small school setting provides students with a quality of education that is unparalleled. Small class sizes (12-15 students) and a focus on one on one instruction geared to the needs of each individual student creates an atmosphere where students are inspired to succeed. For students who are seeking a Canadian post secondary program, CIP offers career counseling in grade 12 which helps students to choose an area of post secondary focus, including completing entrance, residence and scholarship applications. Further to this, agreements with our local college and university provide students a direct pathway to post secondary programs upon meeting certain criteria. Given the location of CIP, students are afforded the opportunity to experience true immersion. The community is strictly English speaking and the number of students from any language group is limited to increase a student’s ability to perfect their English by the completion of their program.

The English Montreal School Board (EMSB), which is located on the island of Montreal, is the largest public English School Board in the Province of Quebec. The EMSB currently has 33 elementary schools (pre-kindergarten to grade 6, and 16 high schools, secondary I-V (grades 7-11) serving approximately 35,000 students.Academics, along with an enriched learning experience, partnered with several French language options are offered in our elementary and high schools. For the student that wants to master the English language our elementary schools offer the English Core stream of 220 minutes of English instruction and 90 minutes of French instruction per day. For the student who is striving to master the French language our immersion program has been proven to be very successful. The first 3 years of learning is completely taught in French, and the last four years are 50% English and 50% French. Our high schools also offer 2 programs. In the English Core program students receive their instruction in English with the exception of one course in French as a second language. In the French Immersion program secondary I, II, and III (grades 7-9) have extended French programs which vary from 38% to 72% of French instruction. In secondary IV (grade 10), in addition to a French language course, students may take History in French, and in secondary V (grade 11), students follow French language courses only.

Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools

Langley School District

Langley School District is governed by the British Columbia Ministry of Education. Government-certified teachers teach a complete government accredited and approved curriculum in all of the schools. Lord Selkirk School Division

  Lord Selkirk School Division offers a unique International Student Program in a small, safe city, with many great opportunities for community involvement and academic pursuits. The program operates out of the Lord Selkirk Regional Comprehensive Secondary School -- one of the largest high schools in Manitoba, with approximately 1,200 students.
