New Brunswick French International Student Program

Immerse Yourself in French in Canada! This homestay high school program welcomes students from grades seven through 12.

New Brunswick is the only officially bilingual province in Canada, where francophones proudly celebrate and promote their language and Acadian culture. The program is offered in middle schools and high schools in all three French school districts, in both urban and rural communities across New Brunswick, a beautiful province on the each coast of Canada.

Participants live in a bilingual city or town with a French (bilingual) family, which welcomes them with open arms and makes them feel like they belong.

Host families are selected carefully by our local coordinators to ensure that they provide a warm, welcoming, safe and healthy environment. They also ensure that the host family’s home, lifestyle and interests meet the needs of the participant.

Local coordinators also offer active support to the participants during their entire stay. They closely follow each student’s academic progress, as well as how well he or she is doing socially at school and at home.

All the schools are “Community Schools”, and the students are encouraged to flourish in different ways through a myriad of activities, entrepreneurial projects and events, (recycling, horticultural, multicultural, artistic, sporting, literary, musical, theatrical, etc.)

Monthly activities are organized for all international students by the local coordinators and range from bowling to ice skating to going to the maple sugar camp.  Two full-weekend activities are also organized during the year: an overnight ski/snowboard trip as well as an outdoor adventure overnight trip.  All of these activities are included in the program costs.
