Mission is located just 1 hour east of Vancouver and 15 minutes north of the USA border on Canada’s beautiful west coast. The population of Mission is 97% English speaking, which provides a wonderful English immersion environment for our international students. One of the most beautiful and geographically diverse communities in British Columbia, Mission is nestled between the Fraser River and the scenic foothills of the Coast Mountain Range. With a wilderness playground in our backyard and the city of Vancouver in our front yard, Mission offers a lifestyle unmatched in the Lower Mainland. International students in Mission will live and study in a safe, friendly community with a moderate climate year-round. Mild winter temperatures average 5 degrees Celsius and warm summer weather averages 25 degrees Celsius.
Our international students are warmly welcomed by caring host families who provide a “home away from home” for our students. Living with a Canadian family is an enriching cultural experience and an important component of our program. One of the reasons for success in the program is that English instruction received in our schools is reinforced in the home environment. Mission is small enough to provide very personal homestay services. Our staff interview, screen, and regularly monitor all our host families. Host families care for our international students as they would expect their own children to be cared for.
Our students have 24 hour emergency contact information, and have access to our homestay staff anytime.
Monthly international student activities include overnight trips to USA, Whistler, Vancouver Island, ski resorts, etc. All students are invited to participate in school clubs, activities, and sports such as:
