Edmonton Public Schools is proud to welcome international students to our exceptional network of schools through our International Student Program. With over 25 years of experience serving international students from around the world, and with 213 schools serving over 115,000 students, we offer not only the highest standards of academic excellence but also over 100 different complementary courses including fine arts, second languages, sports, technical programs, and technology studies which help our international students receive a well rounded education. Additional academic opportunities such as our Advanced Placement program further help to prepare our international students for their post secondary education adventures. Students may receive credits for exceptional performance in this program that can be applied towards entry into post-secondary institutions worldwide.

International students who come to study with Edmonton Public Schools are also provided with English language learning opportunities while being fully integrated with fellow Canadian students in a safe, friendly, multicultural environment. English as a Second Language (ESL) support is available at all levels; communication skills through reading, writing, listening and speaking are emphasized.

There are many extracurricular opportunities for students to participate in, including academic clubs (e.g. math, reading, spelling, writing), art, band, choir, drama, languages, leadership, photography, social justice, sports teams (e.g. baseball, basketball, cheer, football, rugby, soccer, track & field, volleyball), and yearbook. EPSB also offers Sports Alternative Programs, which are available for elite athletes who wish to pursue an individual sport, while keeping up with their academic studies. Academic programming provided for elite athletes, facilitates their training and participation in competitions by providing flexible scheduling in their courses of study. Examples of sports alternatives include dance, fencing, tennis, skiing, golf, soccer and hockey.

Also known as ‘The Festival City’, Edmonton is a vibrant urban centre amidst beautiful natural surroundings. There is never a shortage of new indoor and outdoor activities to try!

Edmonton Public Schools works with the Canada Homestay Network to provide a caring, supportive, enthusiastic homestay experience. Living with a Canadian family is an excellent way to learn about Canadian culture and improve your English. CHN Relationship Managers provide ongoing support to students as they adjust to life and school in Edmonton.

Application Fee: $250 CAD

Full Year Tuition Fee: $13,000 CAD (2024/25)

1 Semester Tuition Fee: $6,500 CAD (2024/25)

Annual Health Insurance Fee: $550 CAD

5 Months Homestay Fee: $7,965 CAD (2024/25)

10 Months Homestay Fee: $14,090 CAD (2024/25)

Effective for the 2024/25 school year, the Homestay Program will now offer all-inclusive pricing. Costs will appear on the student’s Homestay invoice as “Homestay Fees” for five or ten months periods. All-inclusive Homestay pricing includes: registration, placement, orientation, monthly monitoring, custodianship, airport pick-up and drop-off, a $500 emergency deposit (refundable at the end of the student’s stay, if not used) and monthly Homestay fees.
