Canada is known for its multicultural environment which values and respects cultural and individual differences. Canada is a bilingual country with 2 official languages –  English and French. The majority of the French-speaking population in Canada reside in Quebec however there are many French speaking communities and educational programs offered across the country. The more a student learn and practices speaking English or French before arriving in Canada, the more quickly and easily they will adjust in both school and family life.


There are many convenient and inexpensive ways for international students to stay connected with family and friends back home.  Students can purchase phone cards which then allow the student to call long distance from any phone  without any additional charges being incurred.  Phone cards can generally be purchased at grocery or convenience   stores and some gas stations. Internet is available in all schools and most homes so students can email with friends and family locally and back home. Internet cafes are also common in most cities.e.
